Editorial : About the Author L. V. Schmidt is Professor Emeritus at the Naval Postgraduate School. His career has included research, design, and teaching in industry, government, and academia. He began his career with the Boeing Airplane Company where he participated in the design of the prototype Boeing 707 jet transport. Later, while with Convair, he was responsible for the stability and control development of the Convair 880 and 990 jet transports. His research interests are in engineering mechanics oriented toward both aircraft and surface ship platforms. In addition to his teaching role in the university setting, he has also taught short courses to engineers and pilots at the Naval Air Test Center.
Aimed directly at senior undergraduate engineering students as well as those beginning graduate work, this textbook uses linear algebraic principles and notations to establish airframe equations of motion. The photography is absolutely stunning. The many purported conversations in which I provide advice to Michael about his love life or work problems simply did not occur. This is spectacular and so glad I purchased it.. For instance, there's a chapter on all generations of the 911 Turbo just before the chapter on the 911's second generation and the GT2 has a dedicated chapter that's two chapters before the GT3's (undoubtedly because of the 993 GT2 predating the Type 996 911). The book should be required reading for any landscape architect and any professional or student who is involved with site or community planning or design.. We don’t really know too much about his sources. While I can only speak definitively to the information that I gave Sixsmith and my knowledge of Michael, the book contains other conversations that can't possibly be sourced because the people are dead. Otherwise they would recognize the original Bible regarding farm drainage. And this is something remarkable
