Andrew Podnieks is the author of more than a dozen books on hockey. He has worked extensively with the International Ice Hockey Federation, the Canadian Hockey Association, and the Hockey Hall of Fame on a variety of projects, from Olympic games and world championships to website development. He lives in Toronto.
Hockey's Greatest Teams tells the stories of the justly famous and the unjustly unsung, and distinguishes hockey's true heroes from the ordinary champions. Who were the teams that shaped modern-day hockey and the NHL?Who were the innovators who helped the style of play evolve into the streamlined sport it is today? In this highly competitive, rapid-fire sport, who had the grit and the grace to set the absolute standard for excellence yet unsurpassed? This complete investigation of hockey’s most supreme teams answers the perpetual debates and settles the bragging rights once and for all. Read about the finest teams to ever hit the ice, including the winners of the first Stanley Cup in 1893; Team Canada of 1972; NHL's 1997 Detroit Red Wings; and 1930s Preston Rivulettes, hockey's first women's team. Hockey's Greatest Teams not only chronicles the colorful history of the sport's teams of consequence, but also sings the praises of those teams w
In the first part of the book each usage of the substantive is given a succinct but complete & useful explanation, which is followed by several scriptural examples in both Greek and English.
For example, the "Adverbial Accusative of Measure" has a six sentence explanation followed by ten subcategories such as "The Substantive with the Preposition epi [Greek epi]" and a total of 25 examples from the New Testament.
Part II covers "The Verb" with the same type of information.
Part III of the book discussed "Aspects of Greek Sentences", including phrases and some diagramming.
The target audience is first or second year students of Greek and the purpose of the book is "to introduce the student to Greek syntax with maximum exposure to examples in the New Testament". Gantos's tender and heartfelt reading of that scene still echoes in my heart.
I think the absence of his voice that is the reason I have not been able to get through my audio
