I guess that by making all the characters openly gay in a story that's set in the fifties or early sixties the author was trying to make some point but I just didn't really get it I suppose. This led into the third phase that Rofes considers ongoing in 1996. But I read the book the same way I would read a novel.
In the movie we know little about Michael’s motivation to see his biological mother whereas in the book a lot is made of his efforts. I saw the film on Thanksgiving evening and was captivated by the story so I rushed home and ordered the book. Great pics and instructions. Nice pictures but the dude does not know anything about Porsche. He says that the gay community is no longer dealing with the issue of HIV and the community is dying as the psychological affects of the HIV crisis continue unabated. Her colorful descriptions of each site she visited makes readers feel as if they are standing there beside her. We don’t really know too much about his source
