I loved how Cherry's mom was totally clueless about her son's "roommate". I found the sequencing disorderly and confusing, and many of the descriptions used are flat-out wrong (in professional writing and editing, anyway), confusing, or simply irrelevant/unhelpful. Gherbod Flemming's writing style has improved a great deal since his/her/its earlier White Wolf novels to the point where recent books probably wouldn't even need the "World of Darkness" label to encourage reader interest. Chesapeake Bay and the Key trilogies are some of my favorites. I picked this up based on reviews I've read about an earlier edition. All is perfectly fine and normal, that is until she starts experiencing odd things one of which seem to be "dreams" of flying. Intertwined with her journeys and discoveries are those very reflective moments such as having to say goodbye to life-long friends she has made along the way.
