You get invested in the lives of EACH princess and when you’re reading her story, you want her to succeed! Learning how each main character was dealing with her situation was very interesting for me, and I enjoyed the bits of lore sprinkled throughout the book (in the rituals, the rules, the buildings, the foods, everything!).

There is one thing in this story that royally pissed me off, and I have trouble deciding whether it makes sense or whether it was a plot device. I would suggest purchasing The McGraw-HIll Book of English Grammar and Usage, along with this book and workbook, should you need more explanations on some of the topics. Don Griffin is a first-rank specialist in bat bioacoustics and animal cognition, who in this exceptionally readable book summarizes research in the field as it stood in the early 1960s.
