Shane lacks the dyadic protection that couples enjoy as the most basic of tribal units. I couldn't see anything special about him. The book switches rapidly between first person, technical writing and very informal prose. It you are going to have any more exposure to set theory than an introductory course, you will probably want to buy a copy. It jumps around a lot and is hard to follow.
