I personally felt that the book would have been a lot better if the author had only alluded to the characters' sexuality by using inuendo and symbolism instead of coming right out and revealing almost all the characters to be queer. Avery and Owen did this in The Last Boyfriend as well. And read some more. You would certainly never see anyone walking around in public with a sleeveless shirt knotted above their midriff.. The chapters aren't arranged chronologically or even in an order that makes much sense to me. There is no spark in them anymore.
Despite that, I've generally enjoyed her trilogies. The total amount of words describing how to do it on these 2 pages was less than a paragraph! What a joke. First, this was written in 1859 - anyone who doesn't rate this 5 stars knows nothing about soils and drainage. But since I purchased it I wasn't going to let it sit there.
